Our half and full day workshops will train delegates on different Google tools. They will leave with a sound understanding of the majority of services that Google has to offer and which ones are the best to tap into for their specific businesses.

In this section delegates will learn about what makes a successful website. Fabienne Rabbiosi and her team usually ask attendees if they would like their website reviewed and will provide advice on the following:

• Design for usability
• Where to place the address and phone number
• Navigation menus
• Headings and Alt Tags
• How to resize images
• Search engine friendly structure
• How to choose a great content management system

This module is included in all our half and full day workshops

How to optimise your website for search engines

Delegates will learn how search engines (such as Google) operate and what to do to ensure people find their website.

• How a traveller searches online
• Structure of your content
• Page Titles, meta data, Alt Tags, Webmaster tools
• Keyword research and placement in content
• How to get relevant and quality links to your website

They will be provided with live examples or case studies depending on the length of the workshop.

This module is included in all our half and full day workshops.

Learn how to know what is being said about you

Attendees will learn what to do to:

• Find out who talks about them online
• How to set up TripAdvisor
• How to respond to reviews
• How to set up Google Alerts
• How to grow their online reviews

This module is included in all our half and full day workshops.

It is also available as a 3h module on its own.

Facebook fan pages for your business

Participants will gain an understanding of what Facebook really is and how they could use it in their business successfully. This module includes:

• How to set up an account
• Is it best to create a Facebook Group or a Facebook Page?
• Working with other operators to create a joint Facebook Page
• Would Facebook ads be a good option for my tourism business?

Leverage of your email database 

Delegates will learn about what it takes to write a successful newsletter. This training module includes:

• Why it is not a good idea to send a newsletter via their Outlook
• What newsletter systems are available
• How to write a newsletter (incl. catchy subject line and headings)
• How to promote special offers
• How to measure whether their newsletter provides a good return on investment

This module is not included in our workshops by default. You can however request us to include it or we can provide a standalone workshop on writing successful newsletters.

Set up your AdWords campaign

Participants will learn what it takes to set up a successful search engine marketing strategy with Google AdWords. This includes:

• Tips to set up Google AdWords
• Assessing what keywords to use
• How to write catchy Ads
• How to create optimal landing pages
• And much much more

Please let us know if you would like us to include this topic in our workshop.

It can also be delivered as a standalone workshop on its own.

Learn about web resolution and file size for the web

Apart from learning about what to photograph delegates will also learn:

• What resolution and size is appropriate for the web?
• How to change the resolution and size of their photos
• Where else should they upload them apart from our website?
• How to describe, name and tag their photos

Get into the map at the top of Google

This module will provide tourism operators with the tools and knowledge to enable their own Google Map and Local Search Strategy.

• How to set up their own Google Map
• How to ensure they appear on the map that appears in Google's search results list for their keywords (e.g accommodation Brisbane)
• How to sign up for local directories

This module is not included by default in our workshops but we would be more happy to include it as it is an important topic. Just let us know. We can also run a standalone 2h workshop on Local Search.

Set your business up on YouTube

In this module participants will learn how to:

• Set up their own YouTube account
• Personalise their account
• Create their YouTube channel
• Upload their videos to YouTube
• Use favourites and play lists to display more videos on their channel
• Embed their videos onto their website
• Distribute their videos

A light version of the YouTube module is included in both our half and full day workshops.

This YouTube module is best delivered on its own. Please allocate 3h on computers.

How to use RSS feeds

RSS what? This little program will make you smarter in no time.

• How to set up RSS feeds to learn about how their competitors do business
• Why do I absolutely need to bite the bullet and learn about feeds

Give your photos more exposure with Flickr

Flickr is the biggest online photo platform. Uploading photos to Flickr will increase product exposure and generally result in driving more traffic to you website.

Blogging : getting started

Attendees will gain a better understanding of how blogging can really help with their online marketing strategy. They will learn about

• What is a blog? Who writes it? Is it time consuming
• How to set up a blog (Wordpress vs. Blogspot)
• What should I write on my blog
• Should I get others to participate
