I attended a Tourism NT talk Fabienne Rabbiosi presented in Darwin in February 2009 called 'Beyond 2009'. Her remarks regarding web development display techniques were great. As an IT lecturer and web developer myself, I believe her introduction of DIV based layout, and the separation of content, design and application layers was very informative and immensely useful for all the tourism operators she presented to. She armed everyone in attendance with what are industry standard techniques including online marketing, search engine optimisation and the creation of relevance based search ideas. She presented these techniques in a way specific to tourism operators and how they were going to save them money and ultimately make them money! Her sessions were very well delivered and held the attention of a non-technical audience for the duration of her talk. Good on you Fabs – keep up the great work!

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) engaged the services of "untanglemyweb.com" for the development of the Tourism E-Kit in 2008. This body of work is significant and an essential part of the deliverables in tourism education provided by the ATDW. The project has delivered a tremendous wealth of information to the industry and it's success is unprecedented. Fabienne Rabbiosi the CEO of untanglemyweb.com was the lead consultant in this project. Her commitment to delivering the project on time and within budget was outstanding, her understanding of the Stakeholder requirements and knowledge of the subject matter was second to none. Her ability to accept constructive criticism, adapt and reassess the deliverables and still manage to smile all at the same time was indeed refreshing. Fabienne and Adam take the myth and confusion out of websites and getting the best use out of them. I attended Tourism Australia's Corroboree for North American Australian Travel Specialists which was held in Adelaide in early September. While this conference is always beneficial to me with the ability of meeting tour companies and other travel vendors and experiences this year we also had a seminar by Fabienne and Adam of Untangle My Web. Their seminar was full of easy and more importantly clearly laid out ways to optimize a website. Their interaction with each other and processes by which to maximize your website are invaluable. It was a pleasure to hear them and I have taken many of their suggestions to heart and applied or am applying them to my websites. Thank you for your suggestions they work tremendously! This morning I saw Adam Wallace and Fabienne Rabbiosi present How to get the Most out of your Website in Morningside, Brisbane. The presentation was brilliant and full of so many simple tips that I will be able to use to improve the search engine optimisation of my web site and grow my business. What I like about Adam and Fabienne is they speak in a language that I can understand. They do not use anagrams or jargon or nerdy terms, instead they use every day easy to understand terms, and utilised real examples from our own audience (eg Dave Behren www.davebehrens.com a local artists uses FaceBook to grow his fan base). They provided lots of practical examples that I look forward to using over the next few months. Over the last year Adam has advised me on my web strategy, and it has improved the number of prospective clients visiting my site. I spend no money on advertising, and through minimal and constant effort I have significantly grown my business.
