Do you love tourism, web and business? Do you have life experience? are you a fast learner? Then you might want to keep reading.

We are after a web graphics professional who will not be employed to design websites.

What??? Yes that’s right, we would like to use your arty skills in a business sense. We want you to be a conductor: provide direction and guidance to our graphic designers and web developer on one side and to our clients on the other side.

At UntangleMyWeb.com we provide web solutions, education and online strategies to the tourism industry. It is an exciting space to be in that keeps us on our toes as it will you. A key differentiator is that we just don’t sell solutions we educate and empower businesses to make informed decisions.

This means you will need to enjoy being part web guru and part teacher.

What does the role entail?

You will conduct web development projects from conception through to completion in harmony.

You will need to have strong graphic design flair and a keen interest in online business optimisation. But it doesn’t stop there: you will also need to roll your sleeves up, build out web content, liaise with customers and keep the business moving forward acknowledging that it may involve the odd task from left field.

What sort of web development projects? As leading marketing professionals specialising in the tourism industry you will be working on a range of web strategies for small and medium tourism businesses.

The steps that you will be required to undertake are:

  • Capturing client’s requirements and brainstorming design ideas
  • Developing an action plan tailored to the client’s requirements
  • Preparing the graphic design brief if a new website is required
  • Liaising with our graphic designers and ensuring a high quality level is maintained and that the deliverables are aligned with the client’s requirements
  • Managing the process of turning the PSD design in to a DotNetNuke skin
  • Usabilitiy and Search Engine Optimisation is a core focus on everything we do so you will be expected to learn and utilise these skill sets
  • Assisting the clients with their content requirements and liaising with our copywriting team whenever required

Who are we?

Comprising of a small team of 6, Fabienne and Adam are the Managing Directors.

Fabie and Adam are on the road a lot, travelling the country and holding numerous online marketing workshops.

We have a fun vibrant atmosphere (true, true and we don’t wear suits… that often) which makes for an exciting and dynamic work environment.

Being at the forefront of technology and business integration requires a clear focus and inquisitive attitude where you will need to be thirsty for knowledge that can be directly applied to our clients’ businesses. If you join our team you will have the opportunity to influence and shape the direction of a number of new business initiatives.

The question is, do you have what it take’s to be UntangeMyWeb.com’s latest Untangler?

3 core skills you absolutely need to have…(in no specific order):

We are after a web graphic design professional:

Here is a hint: yellow text on a grey background ain’t cool, neither is hiding the client’s phone number in an 8px font at the bottom of the page. In other words, we want a graphic designer with flair and who understands usability.

HTML and CSS:

If we say wrap that in a DIV and apply a class you don’t say huh? In other words you are savvy with HTML and CSS

Organised and emotionally intelligent:

Dot the i’s and cross the t’s: Excellent project management, communication and multitasking skills (updating your status on Facebook every 10 min does not constitute multitasking)

We also require:

  • Self-discipline
  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop and preparing webpage mockups to provide design options to clients
  • Professional client communication and manners as there is as strong client liaison component to the role
  • Strength in online usability and awareness of core SEO concepts
  • Needless to say you need to be a bit of a computer whizz and a geek at heart (you don’t need to look like one though)
  • Content copywriting or video editing skills would be a plus

Your personality?

  • Introvert or extrovert: doesn’t matter to us just so long as you have a positive down to earth attitude
  • Love learning the latest and greatest but also has a proactive desire to challenge status quo and suggest a “smarter way”
  • We need a flexible doer first and foremost, who has initiative and is able to set their own goals but is open to 360 degree review

Reporting:

  • To UntangleMyWeb.com’s managing directors: Fabienne Rabbiosi and Adam Wallace
  • People that will report to you: Project coordinator, Graphic designers and web developers

Important stuff:

  • Job location: Brisbane (Bulimba for now) but you should be able to work remotely at a later stage
  • Part-time (every day) to start with a view of going full time
  • Starting date: 1st June 2009
  • Salary: the right amount for the right employee.
  • Long term: if you are planning on going travelling for 6 months in one year, this job is not for you
  • We use really cool technology: Google Apps, ActiveCollab, DotNetNuke, Macs and PCs

How to apply?

Email job@untanglemyweb.com and impress us. We would like to see what you think represents style and design online…. We would also like you to show us how great your organisation skills are!

We will send you some more info on “what your typical day” at UntangleMyWeb.com would look like.

You will also need to include:

  • Resume
  • References to projects completed
  • Why you want to work for us
  • References incl. contact numbers

We are very excited to read about you and possibly meet you!

Fabie and Adam and the rest of the team…
